8vo: [24]-744 pp. (sl. toned, unobtrusive damp stain in bottom corner).

Contemp. overl. vellum, flat spine titled in ink, remains of ties, blue edges (ties gone). Good copy.

Early ed. (1st: Paris 1578) of a humanist Greek phrase-book, in the form of an alphabetical dictionary of Greek idioms. The French Benedictine scholar Jacques de Billy de Prunay (1535-1581) was famous as a translator of Greek patristic texts. Woodcut mark on title.

First part, complete in itself, of a 3-vol. ed. of the works of the Italian humanist Politianus (1454-1494), containing his correspondence and a collection of philological essays.
