4to: [4]-100 ff. (toned, top and bottom margin dampstained, some soiling, old repairs to wormtracks in blank fore-edge margin of final quires).
19th-c. gilt red morocco, covers with gilt ruled border and corner pieces, gilt spine, a.e.g., gilt inside border (sl. rubbed at joints and corners). Good complete copy.
Posthumous first edition of Faerno’s (1510-1561) Fables, published by Silvio Antoniano. Engr. title and 100 numbered full-page engravings after designs variously ascribed to Titian, and to Pirro Ligorio.
