Print on tissue, 84 x 57 cm, signed by the publisher (some spotting and staining, pinhole punctures in the four corners).

Victor-Charles Mahillon (1841-1924) was a Belgian musician, instrument builder and writer on musical topics. He was the founder and first curator of the Musée instrumental du Conservatoire Royal de Musique, known today as the Musical Instruments Museum. He built, collected, and described more than 1500 musical instruments. This classification chart is a synopsis designed to illustrate the structure of voices and music instruments used for the modern instrumentation of orchestras, indicating the extent, position and use of each of them, the manner of music notation, and their correlation. Engraved and printed by C.G. Röder in Leipzig.
