4 parts in 2 vol., 8vo: [28]-451, [4]-652, [4]-456, [4]-352-[2] pp. (a few faint dampstains).
Contemp. sheep (rubbed, corners repaired), gilt orn. spines on 5 raised bands (joints rubbed, defect. at heads & tails), red or green leather label, red edges.
New ed. (1st Frech ed. 1718) of the translation of a German work edited by Bressler und Aschenburg (1681-1722) "Die heutigen christlichen Souverainen von Europa". Also attributed to Samuel Heinrich Schmid ("Die durchläuchtige Welt..."). Ill. (complete) with 45 engr. plates of coats-of-arms incl. 1 folding and numerous in text vignettes representing coats-of-arms. Vol. 1 & 2 deal with German nobility ("Les princes d'Aremberg" in vol. 2, pp. 1-8), vol. 3 with European nobility and vol. 4 deals predominantly with non European royal houses incl.
