Bifolio, in-12: [3] pp., on blue paper with letterhead "Hôtel Esplanade/ Locarno", s. "P. Metternich" (2 punch holes on each left side with very minor losses, sm. margin. tear restored with adhesive paper).

Sewn.

Count Metternich (1853-1934) was a German ambassador in London (1901–1912) and Constantinople (1915–1916), known as a prominent opponent of Turkish actions in the Armenian genocide. In our letter, written in the last year of his life (he died on 29 November), he reviews André Maurois's "Édouard VII et son temps" (quoted "Le roi Edouard et son temps").
