Printed on verso of the title leaf of Hutten’s "Invectivae in Hieronymum Aleandrum [...]" (Strasbourg, J. Schott, 1521). Ulrich von Hutten (1488-1523), champion of German freedom against papal domination, is represented as a knight crowned with a laurel wreath (he was crowned Poet Laureate by Emperor Maximilian in 1517). The attribution to the Nürnberg artist Schön (1491-1542) is occasionally disputed.
