Ernst Werner [von] Siemens (1816-1892), German electrical engineer, inventor and industrialist. He founded the electrical and telecommunications conglomerate Siemens. His name has been adopted as the SI unit of electrical conductance, the siemens. Ferdinand Reichenheim (1817-1902) was a German businessman and a leading figure in the Gesellschaft der Freunde (Society of Friends, a Jewish aid organization in Berlin from 1792 until it was banned in 1935).
Joined: 2 letters in German, relating to the Siemens autograph; the 1st from the Siemens Archive, 8 Febr. 1955, to the collector Dora Winter (Brussels), in envelope; the 2nd a carbon copy of Winter’s reply. (3 pcs)
