Mod. marbled boards, flat spine, fore-edge titled (rubbed). Good copy.

First edition of a famous collection of fake Letters of the Apostles, purportedly found at Limoges, and containing i.a. the correspondence of St Paul and Seneca, a letter of St Ignatius to the Holy Virgin asking for information about Jesus, a letter by Jesus to Abgarus, and the letter of Clemens Romanus to the Apostle James relating the death of St Peter. Printed in italics.
