Rare first edition of this compilation of Brabant law by D.F. Martinez (d. 1715), clerk at the court in Brussels. Ill. with 1 large woodcut showing a water mill. Contains laws, tolls, verdicts, regulations and duties on all kinds of aspects of everyday life in the Duchy of Brabant, such as roads, waterways, bridges, meat, corn, mills, etc. Mounted on front pastedown is an ordinance of 28 May 1704, in French, stating that the King, and not the City of Brussels, owns all property rights to the Brussels public space. Loosely added another broadsheet, in Dutch, of an ordinance of 30 August 1704 prohibiting the fresh market on the Brussels Kapellemarkt (printed Br., E.H. Fricx, 1704).
