Contemp. blind-stamped pigskin over wood, bevelled edges, spine with 4 raised bands and manuscript title, sm. fore-edge tabs, 2 metal clasps and catches. Excellent copy.

Important early scholarly ed. of the collected works of Thomas a Kempis (incl. the Imitatio Christi), edited by the Walloon Jesuit Sommalius (1534-1619). Woodcut mark on title and part titles. Full-page woodcut arms (repeated) of dedicatee, the abbot of Sint-Truiden.
