Lot description
Miniature, c. 12 x 12 cm, vellum leaf from a liturgical music manuscript, 41,5 x 29 cm, 4-line red staves, text in black and red in a Gothic hand. Closed marg. tear to right part, upper right corner lacking with tiny damage to the border.
Framed under double-sided glass.
Representing King David in an architectural landscape, inscribed in a very large pink and gold initial "A", with a Ghent-Bruges style illuminated floral border extending along two margins. Text from various Psalms including ps. 24 "Ad te levavi animam meam". The style of this leaf points to a Belgian Limburg origin and especially to manuscripts executed for Friars Minor of Saint-Trond.
