3 parts in 1 vol., folio: [5 (of 6)]-317-[1 bl.]-207 [= 214 (of 215)]-151-[90] ff. (f. [6] and 2nd title missing, sl. browning, some spotting, occ. tears repaired).
German binding: blind-stamped pigskin, boards with fillets, roll-stamp and central panel (biblical ornaments), spine with raised bands and a recent label, brass clasps, catches and corner pieces, edges bevelled inside (spine with defects, rubbed, some local stains).
Third Magdeburg complete Bible. Translated into Low German after Luther's translation and annotated by Johannes Bugenhagen (1485-1558), called Doctor Pomeranus by Luther, with the "Summaries" by Veit Dietrich (1506-1549) in the appendix. Ill. with numerous very fine half-page woodcuts first created by Albrecht Altdorfer (ca. 1480-1538) for the Lübeck Bible printed by Ludwig Dietz in 1533/34.
