Complete with the 812 plates (incl. pl. 29*, 29**, 64*, the unnumb. pl. bound between pp. 120-121 in vol. III fig. the "Commanderie de l'isle verte", and pl. 45* in vol. IV) showing all the costumes of the monastic orders that existed from the beginning of Christianity, as well as the costumes of the military orders. Several chapters are dedicated to the suppressed orders, especially to the Knights Templar. The first edition was published in 1714-1719.
