Lot description

3 etchings with some engraving, 34 x 44 cm, thick laid paper, signed and dated in plate on stone slab "Giuseppe Vasi".

Plates 1, 2 and 5 from a long panoramic view of Rome seen from the Janiculum, on ten sheets intended to be joined together to make a whole. Lettered on a stone slab at bottom left with title and a dedication to Charles III King of Spain, by Vasi. Vasi was the major topographical etcher of his generation in Rome before Piranesi, who was his follower.

Engraving, 40 x 24,7 cm, laid paper, signed in plate "Ioann Hieronymus Frezza".-- 2. Thelott, Johann Gottfried - Apollo and Issé. Etching and engraving, 35 x 38 cm, laid paper with watermark, signed in plate at lower margin "Ioh. Gottf. Thelot sculp." (some foxing and stains). (5 pcs)
