Lot description
8vo: 112-[4-2 bl.] pp.
19th-c. dark blue half morocco (a few scratches), marbl. edges and endpapers, spine with 5 raised bands. Good copy.
Rare French ed. of a text by A.D. Fiocco (d. 1452), apostolic secretary to Eugenius IV. It was a falsification of a work supposedly written by the Roman author Fenestella, of whom little is preserved. Added is a more competent treatise by the Roman antiquarian Pomponio Leto. Both texts deal with the priesthood and public offices in ancient Rome. Woodcut printer's mark on title.
