Very rare Dutch translation of the famous Italian Renaissance epic Orlando Furioso (1532) by L. Ariosto (1474-1533). The Brussels jeweller and rhetorician E. Siceram (1560-1620) was a fan of Italian literature. The present ed. contains the 1st half of Orlando Furioso. A sequel was promised but never completed. Engraved title, author’s portrait, and 23 woodcuts (one at the beginning of each "book"), all in old colouring.
