Lot description
Small 8vo: 16 pp.; 32 maps, hand-coloured (map of Liège bound before the last map, foldings repaired).
Contemp. calf, blind-stamped spine with 6 raised bands (wormhole on back).
Popular atlas pertaining to the War of Succession. Although this 1706 edition is the oldest one known to date, it is a variant from van der Krogt's "La F4" with a different list of contents. Supplementary to the 30 maps mentioned in this list, this copy has also: 1. Nouvelle carte du royaume de Hongrie, and 2. Le Veronois, Le Vicentin et le Padouen. This is not surprising since the "Avertissement" announced that supplementary plates could be chosen from the 136 pl. of the "Atlas Portatif" to complete the copy.
Ref. Koeman La F4 (variant).
Prov. Mod. stamp.
