Lot description
Engr., 6,5 x 12,3 cm (trimmed outside the border except in lower left corner where it is trimmed into the border).
Lion rampant facing right from Famiano Strada's "De bello Belgico". Following the Von Aitzing-Hogenberg model, eight different plates were engraved for Strada's book. This one comes probably from a "contrefaçon hollandaise", a clandestine copy, given the fact that Janssonius' name is never mentioned.
