Lot description

Various sizes, on vellum, in French, with pendant seals (some seals missing or in fragments).

1-2. Two compensations for war damage paid by Charles V and Philip II of Spain to Pierre de la Salle, squire and Lord of Terrasmainil (?), living in Arras. Brussels, 15 Oct. 1552 & 15 March 1558 . 2 ff. The compensations were taken on properties belonging to members of the French party.-- 3. Philip IV of Spain - Letters patent granting Antoine de Spenray (1597-1660) the charge of Superintendent of the Chamber of Accounts in Gelderland. 17 June 1652. 1 f. Ref. Charles II of Spain - Granting of a stipend of 1500 pounds to Louis François de Spenraey (d. 1699), member of the Council of Luxembourg, in recognition for having remained in his service after the seizure of the city by French troops. 2 Oct. 1685. 1 f.
