Lot description

Etchings, 7,4 x 10,2 cm, laid paper, unsigned (one pl. with worm holes, trimmed to the border line).

These four small forest landscapes are here attributed to the Florentine draftsman and printmaker Christofano Paolo Galli (active 1625-1650), based on a similar etching with a wooden landscape, now in the collection of the Britsh Museum (1985,1005.56). Galli's etchings have become extremely rare. Old attribution on verso of one etching "A. Parigi". Good impressions.
