Rare first edition of the third book of Seuphor (anagram of "Orpheus", pseudonym of Ferdinand Louis Berckelaers, Antwerp 1901-1999 Paris). Contains texts in Dutch and in French. Upper cover illustrated with a picture (upside down) of the famous Kurt Schwitters assemblage "Das Kreisen" (1919) now in the MoMA in New York. With a photographic in-text portrait of Seuphor. "Wenduyne aan zee" was first published in the German avant-garde magazine "Der Sturm" in 1924. Founded in 1921 by Seuphor and Geert Pijnenburg with the collaboration of the abstract graphic artist Jozef Peeters, "Het Overzicht" is viewed as the leading arts publication for the Belgian Abstract movement in the beginning of the 1920s.
