Contemp. overl. vellum, flat ink titled spine. Good copy.
Later edition (first 1639) of this compendium of 5 treatises chiefly on gynaecology and obstetrics by S. Pineau (d. 1619), French physician and surgeon to the king, L. Bonacciuoli (d. ca. 1540), physician in Ferrara, F. Platter (1536-1614), Professor of medicine at Basel, P. Gassendi (1592-1655), French philosopher, astronomer and physicist, and M. Sebisch (1539-1625), Professor of medicine at the University of Strasbourg. Ill. with an engr. title and 10 woodcuts of which some folding. The compendium contains a.o. an unusual treatise on the anatomical signs of virginity by Pineau and an interesting treatise describing the foramen ovale of the heart and its vestigial nature in the mature organ, by Gassendi, only published in this edition.
