Drawing, black chalk, 29 x 11 cm, grey wove paper, unsigned (trimmed to figure).
Laid down on green paper, under passe-partout.
Standing nude, most likely drawn after the Capitoline Venus or the Venus de' Medici. Clément-Auguste Andrieux (1829-1880) was a French artist who had contributed many paintings to the Paris Salon between 1850 and 1880, mostly representing historical settings. This drawing has a stamp from the sale held in 1881, shortly after the artist's death.
