First edition of this collection of biographies of some 550 Dutch and Flemish artists from 1466 to 1659 intended to be a sequel to the "Schilder-Boek" of Van Mander. Complete with 49 fine pl. engraved by Jacob Houbraken, Arnold's son (1698-1780) and some by Dirk Jonkman: front., engr. dedication (2nd vol.), front.-portrait and 46 pl., mostly portraits of artists; and 7 small engr.
